After Froberger and Louis Couperin, the Duo Coloquintes is embarking on a new phase of research by exploring the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Drawing on their previous experience, the two musicians naturally turned first to Bach's harpsichord music, borrowing music written for the two hands of the same instrumentalist, transcribing it and making it resonate under their two bows.
How do you make the transition from keyboard writing to bowed strings? By reading a lot of the repertoire, carefully choosing the movements that can be easily adapted and transposing them from time to time, so as to come up with new, recomposed suites.
